Golbazar ( Nepali गोलबजार ) is a city ( municipality ) in the eastern Terai of Nepal in the Siraha district .

The west-east main road connection of Nepal, the Mahendra Rajmarg , runs through Golbazar.

The city was created at the end of 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Asanpur , Ashokpur Balkawa , Betauna , Chandralalpur , Chandrodayapur , Jamadaha , Lalpur and Muksar . The urban area covers 104.5 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs, from which the city of Golbazar emerged, had 47,763 inhabitants (23,353 of them male) in 9,231 households.
