Gordon McCauley

Gordon McCauley (born March 9, 1972 in Balclutha ) is a retired New Zealand cyclist . He is a multiple national road race and individual time trial champion and a three-time Oceania champion.

Even in his early years in the amateur field, McCauley was able to win both the Tour of Southland and the title of national road champion. In 1999 he began his professional career with the Men's Health team . In 2001 he won the Archer International GP for Landbouwkrediet-Colnago . In 2002 he was able to win it again. He also became New Zealand time trial and road racing champion and secured a stage in the Tour of Southland. In 2003 he drove for the Giant Asia Racing Team and repeated his successes in the time trial championship and the Tour of Southland. Two years later he was able to win the tour in his home country for the first time. As a result, he finished the UCI Oceania Tour 2006 in first place. At the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne , McCauley won the bronze medal in the time trial behind the Australians Nathan O'Neill and Ben Day . He won the time trial at the Oceania Cycling Championships in 2007.

At the end of the 2013 season he ended his career as a professional cyclist.
