Glen Mitchell

Glen Anthony Mitchell (born October 19, 1972 in Putaruru ) is a retired New Zealand cyclist .

In 1998 and 1999, Glen Mitchell was New Zealand road racing champion. Twice, in 1996 and 2000, he started in the Olympic Games in road races, but was unable to finish both times.

From 1999 to 2003 Mitchell was a professional on various US teams. In 2000 he won the Tour of Southland , in 2002 he was second in the New Zealand championship in the individual time trial , in 2003 second in the road race and third in the individual time trial. In 2004 he finished second in the overall ranking of the Tour of Southland . In 2005 he was second again in the New Zealand road championship. He competed in the Commonwealth Games three times - in 1998, 2002 and 2006 ; In 2002 he finished fourth in the road race behind Stuart O'Grady , Cadel Evans and Baden Cooke .
