Gospel Church Day
The Gospelkirchentag is a music festival that takes place every two years in Germany at different locations. With more than 5,000 participating singers, it is considered the largest German festival of its kind. The first Gospel Church Day took place in Essen in 2002 . Gospel music is mainly sung on the Gospel Church Day, but there are also musical influences from pop music , rhythm and blues and soul .
The Gospel Church Day is organized by the regional churches of the respective region in cooperation with local partners, the Evangelical Church in Germany and the Creative Church Foundation.
Artist of the Gospel Church Day
Various gospel artists have performed at the past Gospel Church Days: Kirk Franklin , Israel Houghton , Edwin Hawkins , Andraé Crouch , Miriam Schäfer, Hanjo Gäbler . Well-known greats from pop music such as Naturally 7 , Nina Hagen or the a cappella formation Wise Guys were guests.
