Naturally 7 is an American a cappella - group from New York .
Naturally 7 is also nicknamed "the band without a band" as they mimic all instruments with their voice.
Band history
Little did he know when Rod started making a harmonica in 1999 that it would be the beginning of a successful band history. Impressed by his talent, Marcus joined as bass. Everyone quickly learned to imitate some instruments and the first rhythmic songs were created. Over time, five other mouth musicians joined the band.
During a test appearance in Berlin, Naturally 7 played together with Sarah Connor for the first time in Germany. A little later, the band produced the single Music Is the Key with her , which reached number one in the charts in Germany.
In 2006, Marcus Davis left the band for family reasons. His successor was Armand "Hops" Hutton. Four years later, Jamal Reed also decided to leave the band in favor of his family. For him, Napoleon "Polo" Cummings came into the group. In December 2014 and April 2015, Hops and Polo also left the band to start other musical projects. Kelvin Mitchell "Kelz" made his first appearance with the band in December 2014 in Belfast, replacing Hops. Lee Ricardo Cort "Ricky" played his first concert as a successor to Polo in April 2015 in Sunnyvale, California. In May 2018 Garfield "G-Buck" Buckley (former founding member) left the band for family reasons - Sean Simmonds joined the band as their successor.
With a mini tour and an appearance at Wetten, dass ..? The young singers gained greater prominence in Germany. In 2006 they had their own single hit with the title Feel It in the Air Tonight , a vocal-play version of the 1981 hit by Phil Collins .
Between October 10, 2007 and March 22, 2015 they played as the opening act for Michael Bublé with 467 concerts in front of a total of over four million viewers worldwide. When Bublé was looking for an a cappella band for the opening act that didn't take up much space on stage, Naturally 7 signed for the European part of the “Call Me Irresponsible Tour”. Due to the good cooperation, they extended the contract until the end of the tour. From 2010 to 2012 they toured again with Bublé's “Crazy Love Tour” and from 2013 to 2015 they were an integral part of the “To Be Loved Tour”. In addition to their own half-hour appearances as opening act, they sang a few songs with him during Bublé's concerts.
Furthermore, they celebrated successes with the “ AIDA Night Of The Proms Tour 2012” in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands and performed with Mick Hucknall , The Jacksons , Anastacia , Jupiter Jones , the Il Novecento orchestra and many other artists Stage.
After opening two concerts for Coldplay in the USA in December 2012 , they covered their hit "Fix You" from April 2013. In 2015 they sampled Queen 's single " Bohemian Rapsody " with their own single "Galileo" - so are they are the only band to have received such approval from Queen. In July 2018 they had their first appearance at the Zelt-Musik-Festival in Freiburg im Breisgau . In February 2019 Naturally 7 won the category of music groups on the American TV show "The World's Best" and took part in the final.
