Gottfried Ackermann

Gottfried Ackermann , b. Müller , also Gottfried Ackermann-Müller, (born March 14, 1951 in Dresden ) is a German violinist .

Life

Gottfried Ackermann's father was a chamber virtuoso and was a member of the Staatskapelle Dresden . Gottfried Ackermann completed his training with Max Rostal and Sándor Végh . In 1969 he won first prize at the Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Würzburg .

From 1977 he was professor for violin at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory Feldkirch / Bregenz and was also active as the director of the Feldkirch Baroque Ensemble. Since 1980 Gottfried Ackermann has held several positions as first concertmaster : first at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo , then at the Teatro del Opera di Roma , then in the Swiss Festival Orchestra in Lucerne and since 1987 (with an interruption from 2000 to 2007) with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie in Constance . In addition, he was temporarily active as solo violist at the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein and in the Swiss Chamber Orchestra.

Gottfried Ackermann has performed as a soloist and chamber musician since 1979 . Together with his wife Lisbeth Ackermann and members of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich , he forms the PRISMA ensemble . In 1991 he performed as a soloist in the Gewandhaus Leipzig . At Easter 1998 he appeared in the Gewandhaus Leipzig as a soloist with the Leipzig Bach Orchestra; he played the solo violin in the Concerto grosso in A minor by Antonio Vivaldi . With the Bach Orchestra of the Gewandhaus Leipzig under Peter Schreier and Christian Funke he made guest appearances a. a. in Japan . He is a member of the Leipzig Bach Soloists. He was a chamber music partner a. a. by Karl Engel and Sándor Végh. He gave concerts at the Casals Festival, Prades. In 2008 he performed as a soloist at the Weinfelder Music Festival in Weinfelden in the canton of Thurgau .

He made recordings in Italy, on ORF , DRS and Radio Bremen . Ackermann played at the Gidon Kremer Festival , with Yehudi Menuhin and with Nikolaus Harnoncourt .
