Works
Works within Weimar
In Weimar , Elster has preserved: the monument cast by Koehler for Johannes Daniel Falk (1768–1826), the fountain figure of the “tax collector ” (1911), known as the Aktenmännchenbrunnen , which was in the courtyard of the Yellow Palace , and that of Elster and Copy of the Euphrosyne monument (sandstone, 1912) made by his students . In Berlin, the mother cast in the so-called arts and crafts school building in Weimar, now known as Caritas, has been preserved.
Works outside Weimar
In 1899, Gottlieb Elster designed the 34.5 cm high so-called “dandelion vase” in blue-green glaze with brown sprinkles, which was manufactured by the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin under the model number 6273 .
On the market square of Rheinsberg , at the entrance to the castle park, the original of the bronze statue of Crown Prince Friedrich , later King Friedrich the Great, completed by Elster in 1903, has stood again since 1995 .
In 1909 Elster received one of 5 prizes in the competition for the Fritz Reuter monument in Stavenhagen , but Wilhelm Wandschneider received the order for the monument, which was unveiled in 1911 .
The bronze monument to Heinrich von Kleist, unveiled in 1910, stands in the park at the Gertraudenkirche in Frankfurt (Oder) .
In Goslar, a hunter kneeling on a pedestal commemorates his comrades from the Hanoverian Jägerbataillon No. 10. The memorial was created in collaboration with the sculptor Hans Lehmann-Borges .
The seated figure of Queen Luise was unveiled around 1911 in Trianon Park in Berlin-Weißensee .
In 1911, the community of Weißensee donated the bronze casting " Caritas " to the infant and children's hospital (Hansastrasse 178-180) for its foundation. With the closure of the children's hospital on January 1, 1997 and the uncertain future use of the site, Caritas threatened to become a victim of vandalism. At the endeavor of the Weißenseer Heimatfreunde eV association , the sculpture was stored as a precaution. On June 21, 2004, the bronze cast was set up next to the Gottfried Forck House on the Stephanus Foundation site (Albertinenstrasse 20–23) in Berlin-Weißensee. On June 24, 2004, the anniversary of the Stephanus Foundation, Caritas was inaugurated with a ceremony.
