The rule of Rannariedl held the bailiwick over Gottsdorf in the 13th century. The district of the old parish of Gottsdorf was assigned to the Obernzell nursing court in 1593 . From the Obmannschaft Gottsdorf, together with the Bavarian municipal dictates, the Gottsdorf tax district emerged in 1808, and from this in 1818 the Gottsdorf municipality.
