Govan Mbeki is a municipality in the Gert Sibande district , Mpumalanga Province in South Africa with its seat in Secunda . Ms. Flora Maboa Boltman is the mayor.
The community is named after Govan Mbeki (1910-2001), a leader of the anti-apartheid movement and member of the African National Congress . It has an area of 2955 square kilometers.

At the 2011 census, 80.5% were black, 16% white and 1.5% each were Colored and Indian and Asian .
