Green Russia

Green Russia is a faction of the Yabloko party in Russia. She is committed to nature conservation and against nuclear energy.

history

The parliamentary group emerged in 2006 from the party Bund der Grünen Russia ., This had not been able to achieve the legal conditions for permanent registration as a political party. The 13th congress of the Yabloko party in June 2006 decided to accept and form the "Green Russia" faction. Alexei Yablokov became chairman. The group became the largest in membership and contributed to good election results in Saint Petersburg, Karelia and other regions. In 2013 it had around 3,000 members.

The "Green Russia" group is committed to protecting nature, improving environmental conditions in cities and industrial regions, preserving forests, keeping water clean, and other environmental issues, as well as fighting the dangers of nuclear energy. It holds conferences, symposia and information events and publishes publications on these topics.

The group is an associate member of the European Green Party .
