The Erakond Eestimaa Rohelised ( EER , German  Estonian Greens ) are an Estonian party . You are a member of the European Green Party and Global Greens . After initial successes straight after it was founded, the party now plays a subordinate role and is not represented in the Estonian parliament, the Riigikogu .

history

On November 25, 2006, it held its inaugural meeting. In the Estonian parliamentary elections in 2007 , the party got 7.1 percent of the vote and moved into the Riigikogu for the first time with six MPs .

In the 2011 parliamentary elections in Estonia , the party only received 3.8% of the vote. It missed the five percent hurdle and was no longer represented in parliament after only one legislative period. In 2015, the Greens again suffered significant losses in the elections to the national parliament with 0.9% of the vote. In the parliamentary elections in Estonia in 2019 , the re-entry was also missed. The party was able to at least double its share of the vote to 1.8%.

Positions

The main points of the program adopted at the inaugural meeting include environmental protection , the introduction of renewable technologies and direct democracy . In addition, the party advocates a more conservative financial policy with a balanced budget and the lowest possible national debt.
