The Stranka mladih - Zeleni Evrope ( German : Party of Youth - European Greens , SMS-Zeleni for short ) is a green party in Slovenia .

history

The party was founded in 2000 under the name Stranka mladih Slovenije (German: Slovenian Youth Party , SMS for short ).

When it ran for the first time in the parliamentary elections in 2000 , the party achieved 4.34 percent. So she just made the jump over the four percent hurdle and was able to send four MPs to the State Assembly .

In the 2004 parliamentary elections , the party was only able to win 2.08 percent and thus left parliament.

For the 2008 parliamentary election , the party entered a joint list with the Slovenian People's Party (SLS). The alliance reached 5.21 percent and was able to secure 5 seats in the state assembly.

In July 2009 the name was changed to Stranka mladih - Zeleni Evrope .

In the early parliamentary election in 2011 , the party only won 0.86 percent and was therefore unable to move into parliament again.
