Zares - socialno-liberalni ( Slovenian for actual - social liberal ), short name Zares , was a political party in Slovenia .

The party has a social liberal orientation. Its chairman is Gregor Golobič . In 2008–12, Zares was part of Prime Minister Borut Pahor's coalition and provided Pavel Gantar as the President of the State Assembly. She also had observer status in the Liberal International until 2014 .

history

It was founded in October 2007 as a split from the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia , in which six of the 23 members of parliament also took part.

In the 2007 presidential election , Zares supported the Social Democratic candidate , Danilo Türk . In the 2008 parliamentary election , Zares won nine seats with 9.4% of the vote, while the Liberal Democrats only have five MPs in the State Assembly . In the 2009 European elections she won one of seven Slovenian mandates with 9.8% of the vote.

Until October 2011 the party called itself Zares - nova politika (German: actually - new politics ). Since then it has been called Zares - socialno-liberalni .

In the early parliamentary election on December 4, 2011 , the party failed to make it into parliament with just 0.7% of the vote, just as clearly as in the 2014 European elections , where it fell to 1.0% of the vote. Zares did not take part in the early parliamentary elections on July 13, 2014 .

The party disbanded in October 2015.
