The Stranka za trajnostni razvoj Slovenije ( German : Party for Sustainable Development of Slovenia , TRS for short ) was a political party in Slovenia .

history

The party was founded on October 1st, 2011 in the run-up to the December 4th parliamentary elections . It includes some former members of the Slovenian Greens as well as intellectuals and cultural workers. The party chairman is the writer and former ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia (2001-07) Matjaž Hanžek .

Polls shortly before the upcoming parliamentary election in 2011 saw the party just below the four percent threshold . With a result of 1.22 percent, she finally missed entry into parliament . On the occasion of the 2014 European elections , it joined forces with the Democratic Labor Party (DSD) and the Initiative for Democratic Socialism (IDS) to form the left-wing alliance Združena levica (ZL). It won 5.5% of the vote, but no seat in the European Parliament. In the early parliamentary elections in July of the same year, the three parties re-emerged as ZL, together they received 6.0% of the votes and moved into the State Assembly with 6 seats .

On June 24, 2017, the TRS and IDS merged to form the Levica (Left) party.

In its program, the party advocates, among other things:

  • Review of all institutions for illegal concentration of power
  • ecological responsibility
  • safe and good quality jobs
  • higher economic efficiency
  • Reduction of regional differences
