Global Greens

The Global Greens are the world association of green parties and other ecological movements. It was founded in 2001 at a conference in Canberra at which a joint charter, the Global Greens Charter , was adopted. In 2008 a second global conference took place in São Paulo . The aim of the Global Greens is to promote the ideas of green politics worldwide as an international network . The third global conference took place in Dakar from March 29th to April 1st, 2012 ; a fourth world conference was scheduled for March 30 to April 4, 2017 in Liverpool . The youth organization of the Global Greens are the Global Young Greens .

Coordination and management

The governing body is a committee, the Global Green Steering Committee (GGC), with three members each and three representatives from the four regional green associations, the European Green Party (EGP), the Federation of Green Parties of Africa , the Federación de Partidos Verdes de las Américas and the Asia-Pacific Green Network (APGN) as well as one convener and four consultants. There is also the Global Green Network (GGN) , in which one representative from each national green party is represented.
