The Belarusian Green Party ( Belarusian Беларуская Партыя Зялёныя Belaruskaja Partyja Sjaljonyja ) is an opposition political party in Belarus . It is considered to be critical of globalization and anti-capitalist . She has been an observer for the European Green Party since 2008 .
In the presidential elections in Belarus in 2010 , the candidate Yuri Glushakov was unable to attend because the party had not collected enough signatures. In September 2010, the ecologist Vladimir Volodin, who was a member of the party, was arrested. In 2013, the Belarusian Green Party called on President Aljaksandr Lukashenka to grant asylum to the whistleblower Edward Snowden . She also campaigns against the construction of nuclear power plants.
