Graciela Acosta

Graciela Acosta , full name Graciela Acosta Bastos , (* 1963 ) is a former Uruguayan athlete .

Career

Acosta was active in the long jump and triple jump as well as in the running competitions on the sprint courses. At the Junior South American Championships in 1981 , she won the bronze medal in the long jump with a distance of 5.74 meters. In the same year she was also third in this discipline at the South American Championships in 1981 . The following year she took part with the Uruguayan team in the 1982 South American Games in Argentina . There she won silver in the long jump. She also won silver at the South American Championships in 1983 with the 4 x 100 meter relay . At the South American Championships in 1985 , she placed behind Conceição Geremias and Silvia Murialdo in 3rd place in the long jump competition. She was again a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1986 South American Games in Chile . There she reached 5.78 meters and won gold in the long jump competition. In the same year she won bronze in the Ibero-American Championships in 1986 in the long jump behind the two Cubans Eloína Echevarría and Niurka Montalvo . With the 4 x 100 meter relay of Uruguay consisting of Virginia Guerra , Soledad Acerenza , Claudia Acerenza and you, she came 4th at these championships.

In 1990, starting for the German club USC Mainz , she achieved her personal career best in the long jump with 5.99 meters at the event in Betzdorf, Rhineland-Palatinate . At the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart, she missed the triple jump final as 13th in her qualifying group.

In 2001 she took part in the Senior World Championships in Brisbane and won the silver medal in the triple jump with a distance of 11.01 meters.
