Grant Township is located in eastern Iowa around 50 km west of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The Wisconsin border is 75 km north.

Grant Township is located in the western center of Clinton County and borders on Brookfield Township in the north, Bloomfield Township in the northeast, Welton Township in the east, Orange Township in the southeast , Olive Township in the south, and in the southwest the Spring Rock Township , to the west to the Liberty Township and to the northwest to the Sharon Township .
