The Elk River Township is one of 18 townships in Clinton County in the eastern part of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .

The Elk River Township is located in eastern Iowa on the western bank of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The Wisconsin border is 50 miles north.
The Elk River Township is located at 41 ° 59'24 "north latitude and 90 ° 13'56" west longitude and extends over 134.34 km², which is spread over 118.81 km² of land and 16.53 km² of water.
The Elk River Township is located in the extreme northeast of Clinton County and borders Jackson County to the north . On the opposite east bank of the Mississippi is Carroll County in Illinois. Within Clinton County, the Elk River Township is bordered by the Hampshire Township in the south, the Center Township in the southwest and Deep Creek Township in the west .
