The Hampshire Township is one of 18 townships in Clinton County in the eastern part of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .

The Hampshire Township is located in the northern and northwestern suburbs of Clinton in eastern Iowa on the western bank of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The Wisconsin border is 50 miles north.
The Hampshire Township lies at 41 ° 54'15 "north latitude and 90 ° 15'06" west longitude and extends over 102.18 km², which is spread over 95.31 km² of land and 6.87 km² of water.
The Hampshire Township is in the east of Clinton County. On the opposite east bank of the Mississippi are the Carroll and Whiteside Counties in Illinois. Within Clinton County, the Hampshire Township borders in the south and southeast on the non-township city of Clinton, in the west on the Center Township , in the northwest on the Deep Creek Township and in the north on the Elk River Township .

By Hampshire Township of the Iowa portion of the at this point runs along the Mississippi Great River Road forming US Highway 67 . Further south, Iowa Highway 136 runs through the township in a southeast-northwest direction and also forms the northwestern arterial road for the city of Clinton. All other roads are county roads and subordinate and partly unpaved roads.
A Canadian National Railway runs along the Mississippi River through the Hampshire Township .
The closest airfield is the Clinton Municipal Airport , which is immediately southwest of the township ; the nearest major airport is Quad City International Airport, around 70 km south-southwest .

At the 2010 census , the township had 806 residents. Most of the residents live in the suburbs of Clinton and are scattered across the rest of the township. In addition, there is another ( non-parish ) settlement in the Hampshire Township, Six Mile .
