Greg Chambers (* 14. November 1982 in Toronto , Ontario , Canada ) is a Canadian - British hockey player , the 2010 Coventry Blaze British champion was.

Career

Greg Chambers began his career as a hockey player with the Peterborough Petes in his Canadian homeland, for whom he played in the Ontario Hockey League from 2000 to 2003 . After a year with the Pensacola Ice Pilots , he moved to Europe, where he spent the 2004/05 season at HC Varese in the Italian Serie A1 . He then moved to England, where he was first four years for Basingstoke Bison and then two years with Coventry Blaze , with whom he became British Champion in 2010 , in the Elite Ice Hockey League . In 2011 he moved to the second-rate English Premier Ice Hockey League , where he successively played for the Guildford Flames , with whom he won both the league and the league cup in 2012, his former club from Basingstoke, which had since left the EIHL, and the Sheffield Steeldogs played. In 2014, he went one step deeper into the National Ice Hockey League , in which he has played since then. First he was a year at Invicta Dynamos, whose assistant he was also active. In 2015/16 he played for the Bracknell Hornets and then ended his career.

International

Born in Canada, Chambers took part in the 2008 World Championships after his naturalization for Great Britain , when he was selected as the top scorer (together with the Austrians Dieter Kalt and Oliver Setzinger ) in the tournament's all-star team, in 2009 when he made the most assists and together with the Dutchman Jamie Schaafsma was the third best scorer behind the Italians Roland Ramoser and Trevor Johnson , and in 2010 each participated in Division I. He was also on the ice for the British at the qualifying tournament for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver .
