Gregory Wayne Sheppard (born April 23, 1949 in North Battleford , Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played 739 games for the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League in the course of his active career between 1966 and 1982 of the center has denied.

Career

Sheppard spent his junior years with the Estevan Bruins until 1969 - first in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League , then later in the Western Canada Hockey League . During this time he took part in the Memorial Cup twice with the team .

After finishing his junior career, the striker moved to the Central Hockey League for Oklahoma City Blazers , where he was active for three years. After he and in his third year Ross Perkins top scorer in the league had been and the CHL Most Valuable Player Award as wertvollster player had won, the Canadians moved to holding office in the summer of 1972 Stanley Cup winner Boston Bruins . Sheppard stayed with the Bruins for the next six years until September 1978, before he was transferred to the Atlanta Flames in exchange for Dick Redmond and sent to the Pittsburgh Penguins on the same day . In return, they let Jean Pronovost move to Atlanta.

Sheppard remained another four years in the National Hockey League in the service of the Penguins before he declared his active career ended after the 1981/82 season at the age of 33.
