Jean Joseph Denis Pronovost (* 18th December 1945 in Shawinigan Falls , Quebec ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player and - coaches , who in his active between 1964 and 1982, including for the Pittsburgh Penguins , Atlanta Flames and Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League has played. Career

Jean Pronovost began his career as a hockey player with the Niagara Falls Flyers, for which he was active from 1964 to 1966 in the junior league of the Ontario Hockey Association . The winger then played for two years for the professional team of the Oklahoma City Blazers in the Central Professional Hockey League . From 1968 to 1978 he was on the ice for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League , where he was one of the leading players and regularly - as part of the " Century Line " with Lowell MacDonald and Syl Apps junior - one of the top scorers within the team. During his time in Pittsburgh, he took part in the NHL All-Star Game four times in a row (1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978). From 1994 to 1996 Pronovost was the head coach of the Cataractes de Shawinigan from the Canadian junior league QMJHL . In the 1996/97 season he was in charge of the Rafales de Québec from the International Hockey League . His last position was in the 2000/01 season for the QMJHL team Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda as head coach.
