Gregor Bals
Gregor Bals (born May 3, 1936 in Recklinghausen ; † March 19, 2012 in Berlin ) was a German actor , director and screenwriter for television under the pseudonym Johannes Reben .
Life
Gregor Bals studied Romance studies , art history and acting at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome . At first he was engaged as an actor and director at various smaller German theaters (including Stadttheater Bremerhaven and Städtische Bühnen Essen ), but has already appeared in individual film roles. At the same time, he made a name for himself as a translator of a number of Carlo Goldoni's comedies . The world premiere of his translation of Mirandolina (1970, directed by Gregor Bals) was recorded and broadcast by NDR . From 1979 he worked primarily as a screenwriter for German television. He also authored the books for a number of successful series.
