Gregor Glanz (stage name; born August 2, 1979 in Innsbruck ; former stage name Bernie Bennings , real name Bernd Brunmayr ) is a pop singer and entertainer from Austria .

Career

Already in his childhood he designed his own programs as a solo entertainer and singer for the guests of his parents' guest house in Seefeld in Tyrol . As a teenager he sang in the rock band Ozon with Alfred Eberharter junior from the Schürzenjäger, among others . In 1997 the band broke up.

In the following years Gregor Glanz performed under the stage name Bernie Bennings as a party singer, for example on Mallorca, on cruise ships and as an impersonator of Elvis Presley and Joe Cocker (including in the TV show Let yourself be surprised with Thomas Ohrner ). He released several hit singles and a music album.

After a break of several years he gave up his previous artist name and tried a new start under the new name Gregor Glanz . At the major label Universal Music he recorded his album Das ist dein Tag , which was released in March 2010. In addition to new compositions, the album also contains cover versions of well-known hits ( Barefoot in the Rain by Michael Holm ; Sugar in Coffee by Erik Silvester ; I love the life of Vicky Leandros ; This is your day by Udo Jürgens ), but also of titles from other genres ( Durch den Monsun by Tokio Hotel ; Dance With Somebody by Mando Diao in a German version under the title Tanz ). Although the album was advertised as a music tip on Sat.1 , among other things , it was a failure and was not able to make it to number 73 in the sales charts in Germany, in Austria only for one week.

In the spring and summer of 2011 Gregor Glanz began composing new songs for his second CD. For this he worked with the Austrian music producer and composer Manuel Stix and the German lyricist Rainer Thielmann . The album 5 to 8 was released on September 21, 2012 on Universal Music .

In November 2012, he announced the separation from his life partner, the pop singer Petra Frey .

In 2013 he took part in the dance show Dancing Stars with the professional dancer Lenka Pohoralek . The couple dropped out after eight broadcasts and finished in seventh place.
