The Grenadier-Lehr-Division was a German infantry division during World War II .

Division history and organization

Division history

The division was set up on August 3, 1944 at the Döberitz military training area ( Military District III ) near Berlin . The division was actually intended for use by the Tanne West company . On August 17, 1944, however, the division was renamed the 563rd Grenadier Division .
