Border between Serbia and Hungary
The border between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Hungary is a 151 km long river and land border in southeastern Europe . The border area is in the Pannonian Plain . As the EU's external border (Hungary), the border played an important role in the refugee crisis in Europe from 2015 , as it was on the Balkan route . Since March 9, 2016, no visa-requiring persons have been admitted to Serbia at the border without a visa (also not to Slovenia and Croatia).
history
The border has existed since 2006 after Serbia separated from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia .
course
The border runs roughly from west to east; on the Hungarian side in the south and on the Serbian side in the north. The Tisza separates the countries over a stretch of just a few kilometers. Here too, as well as on side arms, there were illegal border crossings by migrants with deaths.
