The Grenzgraben is a left and western tributary of the Wurmbach in the Central Franconian districts of Ansbach and Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . In the upper reaches of the Wurmbach near Spielberg there is a second tributary called Grenzgraben .

The border ditch rises near a road in the Gunzenhausen - Wassertrüdingen wind farm between Obermögersheim in the southwest and Weilerau in the east at an altitude of 470 m above sea level. NN . The stream flows steadily in a north-easterly direction and crosses a wide open landscape . It feeds several ponds and flows through Nordstetten . The border ditch opens after a run of around 2.7 kilometers at an altitude of 434 m above sea level. NN east of Nordstetten, northwest of Steinacker and north of the Simonsmühle from the left into the Wurmbach.
In the topographical atlas of the Kingdom of Bavaria (sheet 45 Dinkelsbühl, dated approx. 1830-1840), the term "Hörmannsgraben" is used for the "Grenzgraben", which is still used in dialect by the older inhabitants of Nordstetten.
