Bulk recipients (Deutsche Post)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to the definition of Deutsche Post, a bulk recipient is a recipient with more than 2000 incoming mail items per working day.

Large recipients can, if they meet these requirements, receive their own postcode . Several recipients who are not large recipients per se can receive a common large recipient zip code if they together meet the requirements. Shipments for bulk recipients are either picked up by the respective recipient at a delivery base or delivered by a delivery service (outward + way).

In the case of bulk recipients, it is not necessary to state the street and house number because they are already sufficiently identified by entering the postcode and city. A ruling by the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt is also sufficient for a revocation specifying postal code and city, provided it is at the entrepreneur is a major recipient.

The postal codes of the bulk recipients were originally not published by the Deutsche Bundespost . Since privatization, Deutsche Post has also published a list of all major recipients in its postcode book. When the five-digit postcodes were introduced in 1993, there were just under 1,100 large recipients who had their own postcode and just under 16,000 group recipients who shared a postcode.

Swiss Post publishes the new postal codes for bulk recipients (GE).
