The Great House (Neuffen Castle) was a town house belonging to the Schilling von Cannstatt family . It is located at Schillingstrasse 14 in Neuffen .
history
The building is also called "Schilling's House" in Neuffen. Heinrich von Schilling came to the city around 1270 through his marriage to Willibirg von Neuffen. It is a half-timbered house set on the city wall, the core of which dates from 1364. In 1477 the building was sold to Wolf von Neuhausen. An extensive renovation took place in 1595, another in 1707. It is one of the few buildings in Neuffen that survived the fire in 1634 during the Thirty Years' War . The city of Neuffen acquired the house in 1979 and thoroughly restored it by 1986. Today the large house houses the city museum.
