Guardini Foundation

The Guardini Foundation , its own name Guardini Foundation , was founded in Berlin in 1987 as a registered association in memory of the religious philosopher Romano Guardini .

The main themes of the work are therefore the presentation of contemporary art and the promotion of interdenominational dialogue between artists and scientists in the tradition of the namesake, who made this dialogue between theology, philosophy, literature and art his concern. In this context, the Guardini Foundation speaks of the triangle of art , science and faith as a work program.

It maintains a Guardini college and a Guardini gallery, has numerous publications and has made a significant contribution to the establishment of a Guardini chair at the theological faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin.

The founding members of the Guardini Foundation were: Paul Corazolla , Eckhart Deutsch , Siegfried Ernst , Alfred Hildebrandt, Jakob Kraetzer , Friedrich Kronenberg , Hans Maier , Jürgen Meyer-Wilms , Lutz von Pufendorf , Hermann Josef Schuster , Alexander Schwan , Wolf Jobst Siedler , Otto von Simson and Johannes Tobei .

Many prominent politicians, intellectuals, scientists and artists of their time were represented on the founding advisory board. I.a. Hermann J. Abs , Władysław Bartoszewski , François Bondy , Luc Bondy , Walther Casper, Joachim Fest , Winfried Fest, Thomas Gaehtgens , Friedhelm Hofmann , Ludger Honnefelder , Walter Cardinal Kasper , Leszek Kołakowski , Nikolaus Lobkowicz , Hermann Lübbe , Peter Matić , Friedhelm Mennekes , Paul Mikat , Karl Oppermann , Elke Petri , Eberhard Roters , Wiland Schmied , Gesine Schwan , Klaus Töpfer and Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker .
