Guenter Roese (born August 31, 1935 in Berlin as Günter Lothar Friedrich Röse ; † October 15, 2015 in Naples ) was a German publisher and art patron.

Roese held managerial positions at IBM Germany for many years . In addition, he was involved as a publisher with his MCM ART Verlag, founded in 1995, in the field of art and culture based in Berlin and Wieck a. Darß . He held numerous honorary positions. He was the initiator of the Ahrenshooper art auction.

Originated from an idea by Guenter Roese in 2005 the initiative in the artists' colony Ahrenshoop on the peninsula Fischland-Zingst on the Baltic Sea, the Kunstmuseum Ahrenshoop to build. Roese was the founding board member and managing director of the Ahrenshoop Art Museum Foundation, which was founded in 2008. The museum, based on a design by Volker Staab , opened in 2013.

Guenter Roese died during a vacation in Italy on October 15, 2015 after a brief, serious illness at the age of 80 in Naples. The burial took place on November 20, 2015 at the state-owned cemetery Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend .
