Guido Fischer (economist)

Guido August Maria Fischer (born June 8, 1899 in Munich ; † October 13, 1983 there ) was a German economist .

Life

After graduating from high school, Guido Fischer, the son of a Reichsbahnamtmann, began studying at the Munich Commercial College, which he completed in 1921 with a commercial diploma. Having the following year in Frankfurt Dr. rer. pole. received his doctorate , he received a lectureship at the commercial college in Mannheim in 1923 .

After his habilitation in 1927 at the Political Science Faculty of the University of Munich , he was given an extraordinary professorship in economics there in 1934 . Fischer - he was a member of the NSDAP , also in the BNSDJ - was appointed head of the "Group Awards at the High Command of the Wehrmacht " during the Second World War . In 1944 he was dismissed from university because of "political unreliability" and demoted to private.

In 1946, Fischer was appointed associate professor and head of the Institute for Business Administration and Social Practice he founded. Fischer, appointed full professor in 1964, retired in 1968 . In addition, Guido Fischer held a visiting professorship at the University of Kobe . Guido Fischer, who has published the magazine Mensch und Arbeit since 1949 , was awarded the Order of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Bavarian State Medal for Social Merit .

While the politically national and Catholic-minded Guido Fischer turned to the defense economy in the Nazi state , in particular to pricing in a state-controlled economy, his main scientific focus was subsequently on human resources .

In the Soviet occupation zone and in the GDR , his writings Wehrwirtschaft (1936) and Einheits- und Gruppenpreise (1943), published by the Leipzig publishing house Quelle & Meyer , were placed on the list of literature to be sorted out.
