Guido Hunter

Guido Jäger (born October 7, 1961 in Osnabrück ) is a German double bass player and composer.

Live and act

Guido Jäger studied classical double bass at the Musikhochschule Lübeck with Willi Beyer and on master classes with Wolfgang Güttler , Ludwig Streicher and Ovidiu Bădilă . In 1992 he toured Israel and Spain with the Philharmonic of the Nations before Tom Waits engaged him for the play "Alice" (directed by Robert Wilson ) at the Hamburg Thalia Theater. Guest performances have taken him to New York, Sicily and Lisbon with this production. Since 1995 he has been working with the clarinetist Giora Feidman , since 1999 as an integral part of the Giora Feidman Trio (from 2010 with Feidman and the accordionist Enrique Ugarte ). Since then there have been joint concerts in Europe, Israel and Japan (here together with the bandoneonist Raúl Jaurena ), and there have also been television appearances and CD productions.

In addition, Guido Jäger played with Richard Galliano , Maxim Vengerov , Efim Jourist , Wolf Kerschek , Avi Avital and accompanied the actors Iris Berben , Ulrich Tukur , Burghart Klaußner , Dominique Horwitz , Ben Becker , Jens Wawrczeck and Kai Helm in various productions.

Jäger is a member of the Kibardin Quartet , Sureste Tango , Bun-Jon & The Big Jive and Klezmerata Hamburg . After his compositions were published on CDs, Jäger's music book "A song to take home" was published by Pianissimo Verlag in 2013.
