Guillermo Patricio Vera Soto

Guillermo Patricio Vera Soto (born June 7, 1958 in Isla de Maipo ) is Bishop of Iquique .

Life

Guillermo Patricio Vera Soto was ordained a priest on June 12, 1982 . In 1991 he was incardinated in the clergy of the Calama Territorial Prelature .

Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate of Calama on April 10, 2003 . The Archbishop of Antofagasta , Patricio Infante Alfonso , donated him episcopal ordination on May 31 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Pablo Lizama Riquelme , military bishop of Chile , and Enrique Troncoso Troncoso , Bishop of Melipilla .

With the elevation to the diocese on February 20, 2010 he was appointed Bishop of San Juan Bautista de Calama .

On February 22, 2014, Francis appointed him Bishop of Iquique . The inauguration took place on March 29 of the same year.
