Guillermo Ranzahuer González

Guillermo Ranzahuer González (born March 12, 1928 in Huatusco , Veracruz , Mexico , † August 5, 2008 ) was Roman Catholic bishop of San Andrés Tuxtla .

Life

Guillermo Ranzahuer González studied theology at the seminary in Xalapa and from 1944 to 1947 philosophy at the seminary of Montezuma in New Mexico , USA. During his doctoral studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Moral Theology (1952) and Canon Law (1953), he was ordained a priest in Rome on December 22, 1951 . He then taught philosophy and theology at the seminary of Xalapa, later he was its rector.

On February 15, 1969 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed third bishop of San Andrés Tuxtla . The Archbishop of Jalapa , Emilio Abascal y Salmerón , ordained him episcopal on March 22nd of the same year; Co- consecrators were the old archbishop of Jalapa, Manuel Pío López Estrada , and his predecessor and later Archbishop of San Luis Potosí , Arturo Antonio Szymanski Ramírez .

On June 12, 2004, his resignation was granted by Pope John Paul II . He died of a heart attack . He was buried in his hometown of Huatusco.
