The album Porgy and Bess followed in 1996 , on which Bernt Rosengren also took part as a guest soloist. With Nordahl he recorded the duo album Play Lars Gullin in 2000 . In the 2000s he worked with Patrik Boman's Seven Piece Machine and outside of jazz with the formation Anekdoten around the singer Anna Sofi Dahlberg.

Appreciation

Bergsten was awarded the Lars Gullin Prize in 1999. According to Alex Henderson, his playing is reminiscent of Gerry Mulligan , but with a larger range, without the aggressive style of Cecil Payne or Pepper Adams . Cook / Morton consider Bergstren to be on a par with baritone saxophonists such as Lars Gullin, Mulligan, Serge Chaloff and Harry Carney .
