Gunther Geltinger

Gunther Geltinger (* 1974 in Erlenbach am Main ) is a German writer .

Live and act

After graduating from high school, Gunther Geltinger studied screenwriting and dramaturgy at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and as a postgraduate at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne . He has lived there since then.

In 2011 he took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2011 at the invitation of Alain Claude Sulzer . His debut novel Mensch Engel has been translated into various languages ​​and also published as a paperback . In 2013, Moor , his second novel, appeared. In this, Geltinger describes the love affair between a depressed mother and her stuttering son. Der Spiegel described the work as "sophisticated literature in the good old Suhrkamp tradition"
