Guo Jinlong ( Chinese  郭金龙 * July 1947 in Nanjing , Jiangsu ) is a Chinese politician of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), among others between 2007 and 2012 the Mayor of Beijing , and also 2012-2017 Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing and Was a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party .

Life

Studies and beginning of the career as an official

Guo Jinlong, who belongs to the Han ethnic group , began studying physics at the Faculty of Physics at Nanjing University after attending school and graduated in 1969. He then began his professional career as an employee of the hydropower section of the electronic energy department of Zhong County and worked there as a technician between 1970 and 1973. He then worked as a trainer for the Zhong County Physical Culture and Sports Committee between 1973 and 1979, and became a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1979 . He was a teacher in the Public Relations Department of the Zhong County Party Committee from 1979 to 1980, and then served as the Deputy Secretary of the Culture and Education Department of the Zhong County Party Committee from 1980 to 1981, before becoming Secretary of the Culture Department from 1981 to 1983 and formation of the Zhong County Party Committee. He then served as the deputy secretary of the Zhong County Party Committee from 1983 to 1985 and a judge at the Zhong County People's Court. He then took over 1985-1987, the post of deputy director of the Agriculture Committee of the province of Sichuan , as well as Deputy Director of the Research Office of the rural policy.

In this capacity, Guo Jinlong was appointed as the successor to Wang Qishan on November 30, 2007, first acting mayor and then on January 26, 2008 mayor of Beijing City .
