Gustav Hermann Christoph von Benckendorff (nickname: Hermann, Russian : Ермолай Павлович Бенкендорф, фон, * 23 January 1815 in Gilsenhof at Kiltsi , Estonia , † 6. November 1883 in Liigvalla , Estonia) was an Estonian landowners , Estonian district and chivalry captain of Estonian knighthood .

Life

Gustav Hermann attended the Knights and Cathedral School in Reval and then switched to the Junker School in Saint Petersburg. In 1834 he joined the Chevalier Guard Regiment as a cornet , also in St. Petersburg, and in 1840 took his leave as a staff commander . He became a large landowner of the Löwenwolde , Warrung and Jendel estates in Estonia and was appointed to the office of local hook judge . From 1851 to 1854 he was knighthood captain of the Estonian knighthood . After that he was district administrator from 1856 to 1865.

Gustav Hermann was the son of Paul Friedrich von Benckendorff (1784–1841) and his wife Elisabeth, a born Rehbinder . He married Marie von Löwenstern in Reval in 1842 , their descendants were:

  • Elisabeth Katharina Friederike von Benckendorff (1843–1888), married to Julius Schilling on Orgena in the Järva district † 1897
  • Paul Ludwig Hermann von Benckendorff, Lord of Löwenwolde and Warrang (born October 31, 1845 in Warrang † October 13, 1902), married. with Anna von Stackelberg (1853–1882)
  • Alexander Gustav Konstantin von Benckendorff (* December 7, 1846 in Warrang † 1846–1910), District Deputy , married. with Margarethe von Bremen (1856-1919)
  • Marie von Benckendorf (1848–1922) married. with Paul von Wredega († 1899)
