Gustav Hock

Gustav Hock (born April 26, 1837 in Klagenfurt ; † October 30, 1902 there ) was an engineer and member of the Austrian House of Representatives .

Life

Gustav Hock was the son of the doctor Karl Hock († 1881). He attended a grammar school in Klagenfurt and later a polytechnic in Graz . He then studied at the Bergakademie Leoben . He worked as an engineer at the Eberstein ironworks in the St. Veit district . In 1872 he inherited the Töltschach estate in the Maria Saal community as the heir of his grandmother . He later bought and sold the Kraindorf estate in the municipality of Obermühlbach (today in the municipality of Frauenstein ) and an estate in Thalsdorf in the municipality of St. Georgen am Längsee .

In 1869 he was co-founder of the Glanthal Democrats' Association and until 1887 also its chairman . In 1894 he was a founding member of the German People's Association for Carinthia.

Gustav Hock was Roman Catholic and from 1866 married Maria Kassin († 1896), with whom he had three sons and a daughter. He was the grandson of the Austrian freedom fighter Johann Baptist Türk .

Political functions

From 1867 to 1878 and from 1880 to 1902 Gustav Hock was a member of the Carinthian state parliament ( 2nd , 3rd , 4th , 5th , 6th , 7th and 8th electoral terms ). Until 1877 he was responsible for the elective class rural communities ( Klagenfurt , Feldkirchen , Ferlach ), from 1878 (5th electoral period) for the elective class rural communities ( St. Veit , Friesach , Gurk , Althofen , Eberstein ). From 1892 to 1902 he was also on the state committee.

From 1863 to 1880 he was councilor of Maria Saal.

From December 5, 1882 to April 23, 1885 he was a member of the House of Representatives in the Reichsrat ( VI legislature ), Crown Land Carinthia, Curia Landgemeinden 2 , regions St. Veit, Friesach, Gurk, Eberstein, Althofen, Wolfsberg , St. Leonhard , St. Paul .

From September 22, 1885 to January 23, 1891 he was a member of the House of Representatives in the Reichsrat ( VII legislative period ), Crown Land Carinthia, Curia Landgemeinden 2 , regions St. Veit, Friesach, Gurk, Eberstein, Althofen, Wolfsberg, St. Leonhard, St. Paul.

Club memberships

Gustav Hock was a member of the United Left from 1882 , then from 1885 of the German Club . From February 15, 1887, he was non-attached , but from May 22, 1887 he was with the German National Association.
