Gustav Natorp

Gustav Natorp (born April 22, 1824 in Wengern ; † January 13, 1891 in Essen ) was an official in the Ruhr mining industry .

Live and act

He was the eldest son of the pastor, superintendent and district school inspector Gustav Ludwig Natorp zu Wengern an der Ruhr. His mother Maria was the daughter of Friedrich Adolf Krummacher . His grandfather was the church and school man Bernhard Christoph Ludwig Natorp zu Münster.

He passed his Abitur in 1843 at the Hammonense Grammar School in Hamm , where his uncle Wilhelm Johann Heinrich Lent (1798–1868) was President of the Hamm Higher Regional Court . From 1843 to 1846 he studied linguistics and history in Halle, Berlin and Münster. He then worked as a high school teacher in Essen and Dortmund . From 1864 to 1891 he was managing director of the Association for Mining Interests in the Dortmund Upper Mining District in Essen. From 1882 to 1888 he was a member of the Altena-Iserlohn district in the Prussian state parliament .

Political essays and treatises on Westphalian homeland history have been preserved by Natorp . He eventually suffered from gout . Typhoid and pneumonia resulted in his death.
