Gustav von Brenn
Gustav Adolf Ewald Freiherr von Brenn (* 1772 presumably in Weimar ; † August 20, 1838 in Dresden ) was the Royal Prussian Minister of State ( Minister of the Interior ).
Life
origin
His father was Ernst Friedrich (* 1731), the illegitimate son of Duke Ernst August von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach and Friederike von Marschall. “ The Duke maintained a regular harem in which two noble“ ladies of honor ”and three middle-class“ chambermaids ”were at his service. “This was raised as“ Ernst Friedrich Freiherr von Brenn ”on February 26, 1804 in Vienna to the status of imperial baron .
Career
After studying law at the Universities of Jena and Leipzig in the years 1789-1791 was burning as from 1793 electoral Saxon Government in Zeitz operates. In 1801 he became judge of the Court of Appeal in Dresden .
In 1808 he became a lecturer in a ministry of the Kingdom of Saxony , in 1813 he became a lecturer in the War Administration Chamber. Just two years later (1815), Brenn was appointed head of the 4th Department in the Prussian General Government. When this department was dissolved in 1816, he became government director in Potsdam . Brenn was then regional president in Merseburg for five years from 1825 to 1830. This post was known as a stepping stone to the highest government offices.
Brenn took over from "Doppelminister" Friedrich von Schuckmann from September 11, 1830 to 1834 in the Prussian Ministry of the Interior, as Minister of State for the Interior and the Police. Because of his very old age, Schuckmann wanted to limit himself to the area of trade and business affairs in the Ministry of the Interior. After Schuckmann's resignation, Brenn took over the following areas from Schuckmann's ministry as Minister of the Interior for trade affairs from April 1834 to December 31, 1837 : the knightly credit associations , the general commissions for the regulation of landlord and peasant conditions (... ) , the revision college for the regulation of landlord and peasant relationships (...) and the general direction of the general widows catering establishment. Gustav von Rochow , who had succeeded Brenn as district president in Merseburg in 1831, took over the police department from him.
Gustav Freiherr von Brenn, as the district president of Merseburg , received royal Prussian recognition of the baron status on April 14, 1830.

At the beginning of June 1837 “ the Minister of State Freiherr von Brenn's request for dismissal from his service was given in, and it was determined that his resignation would take place at the end of this year. “At the same time it was decided to“ dissolve the Ministry of Trade and Industry with the resignation of State Minister Freiherr von Brenn and to assign its business to the departments of the other ministries to which they previously belonged. "

Brenn was married to Charlotte Constantie geb. Baroness von Danckelmann . Her children soon got into debt and would have to forcibly auction their properties in Lodersleben .
A daughter, Baroness Helene von Brenn (1825–1902) was married to Emil von Gutzmerow in 1854 in her second marriage .
