Gusto (restaurant guide)
Gusto is a German restaurant guide . It was initially published by the founder and editor-in-chief Markus J. Oberhäußer in Landsberg am Lech . From 2020 it will be published by ZS-Verlag in Munich.
history
In 2003 Gusto started as a regional inn guide for the Bavarian Oberland between Rosenheim and Weilheim in Upper Bavaria . By 2010 the restaurant guide had been expanded to cover the whole of Germany and achieved a circulation of 76% of the market leader Guide Michelin .
In 2018, Gusto rejected an advertisement from Nestlé in favor of the non-profit association Viva con Agua , which works to ensure that everyone around the world has access to clean drinking water.
At the end of November 2019, ZS-Verlag announced that it would no longer publish the Gault-Millau restaurant guide , but instead entered into a partnership with Gusto. They want to jointly "develop this into the leading brand for culinary enjoyment". To this end, print and digital offers are to be expanded and redeveloped.
reviews
The kitchen quality is rated with 5 to 10 Gusto pans , whereby each of these marks can be upgraded with a "+" symbol. Ambience, equipment, wine selection and service are rewarded with one to five cutlery .
In Gusto 2019/2020 , the following six restaurants received the highest rating "10+":
- Schwarzwaldstube in the Hotel Traube Tonbach, Baiersbronn ( Torsten Michel , named "Chef of the Year 2020" by Gusto),
- Lorenz Adlon dining room in the Hotel Adlon , Berlin ( Hendrik Otto ),
- The Table, Hamburg ( Kevin Fehling ),
- Atelier in the Hotel Bayerischer Hof , Munich ( Jan Hartwig ),
- Victor's Gourmet Restaurant Schloss Berg , Perl ( Christian Bau ),
- Aqua in the Hotel The Ritz-Carlton Wolfsburg , Wolfsburg ( Sven Elverfeld ).
Unlike most of its competitors, since 2017 Gusto has no longer published its current restaurant reviews en bloc on a specific date, but supplements its online offer with new reviews throughout the year.
According to a regularly repeated survey, Gusto is awarded the second best competence by restaurateurs after the Michelin Guide , ahead of the established Gault-Millau .
The restaurant rankings include Gusto in their rating.
