Kevin Fehling

Kevin Fehling (born June 29, 1977 in Delmenhorst ) is a German chef .

biography

Fehling grew up near Bremen. After training at Hotel Thomsen, Fehling went to Parkhotel Bremen in 1998 and to Restaurant L'Echalote in 1999 , also in Bremen. Then he was head chef on the cruise ship Europa in the Venezia restaurant for two years . In 2001 he moved to the Wollenberg restaurant in Hamburg and in 2002 to the Piment zu Wahabi Nouri restaurant , also in Hamburg. In 2003 he went to the three-star chef Harald Wohlfahrt in the Schwarzwaldstube restaurant in Baiersbronn . He then cooked in the Wullenwever restaurant in Lübeck in 2004 .

From 2005 to 2015 he was head chef at the La Belle Epoque restaurant at Columbia Hotels & Resorts Travemünde . In the Guide Michelin 2011 La Belle Epoque was awarded two stars in the Gault Millau with 17 points. In January 2012, Fehling cooked the 23rd FAZ gourmet vision in his restaurant. In 2012, La Belle Epoque was awarded its third star in the 2013 Michelin Guide. It was the only three-star restaurant in Schleswig-Holstein and at that time the northernmost three-star restaurant in the world. In March 2015, Fehling announced that he would be leaving the “La belle Epoque” restaurant to start his own business.

In August 2015 he opened his own restaurant The Table in Hamburg's Hafen-City . There is a large snake-shaped table for 22 people, where guests can watch the food being prepared. Also The Table has been awarded three Michelin stars in November, 2015.

Fehling's trademark is the combination of classic recipes with exotic ingredients. He spends three to four hours a day coming up with new recipes.

He has a daughter with his partner Anna.
