Peter Knogl

Peter Knogl (born September 14, 1968 in Deggendorf ) is a German chef .

life and work

After his training, Peter Knogl worked for Heinz Winkler , Gerhard Schwaiger , Dominic Le Stancund and Joël Antunes, among others .

His restaurant has received numerous awards, for the first time the Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl restaurant in the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel received a Michelin star at the end of 2007 after seven months of activity . One year later, the awards for the climber of the year 2009 followed , the evaluation with 18 points in the gastro guide Gault Millau and the second star from the Guide Michelin . Peter Knogl was named "Chef of the Year 2011 and 2015" by the Gault Millau Switzerland restaurant guide and received 19 points in the Gault Millau restaurant guide in 2014, making him one of the seven best chefs in Switzerland. Since joining the Cheval Blanc , the restaurant has improved in the restaurant rankings in Switzerland from 118th place (2007) to 2nd place (since 2018).

His restaurant Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl has been awarded three stars in a row since 2015 . On "La Liste 2019" the "Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl" received 97.75 points, making it one of the 50 best restaurants in the world.

Knogl describes his cuisine as "French haute cuisine , reinterpreted with Mediterranean and Asian influences."
