Győrság , formerly Ság , is a Hungarian community in the county Győr in Győr-Moson-Sopron County . Sághalomalja is part of the municipality .

Geographical location

Győrság is located about 15 kilometers southeast of the city of Győr and three kilometers north of the city of Pannonhalma . Neighboring communities are Pázmándfalu, Pér and Töltéstava.

history

In the 13th century the place was mentioned in writing under the name Saag . In 1785 it was called Ság and had 948 residents and 208 houses. The place has been called Győrság since 1908.
