Brito , full name: Hércules de Brito Ruas (born August 9, 1939 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian football player . He played in the defense of numerous clubs, as well as in the Brazilian national team . The peak of his career was in 1970, when Brazil won all qualifying and finals matches at the 1970 World Cup and became world champions in Mexico. Brito was part of the team and played through all the games. The man with the number 2 was also in the starting line-up in the final against Italy, which Brazil won 4-1. Between 1964 and 1972 he had played a total of 45 times for the Seleção and had also been used once during the 1966 World Cup in England.
