The Higher School of Applied Arts Telšiai ( lithuanian Telšių aukštesnioji Taikomosios dailės mokykla ) was the oldest art school in Lower Lithuania , a high school and a technical center for Applied Arts in Telšiai District Municipality , Lithuania . The Telšiai Art Faculty of the Vilnius Art Academy (lit. Vilniaus dailės akademijos Telšių dailės facultetas ) has existed here since 2003 . The faculty dean is Ramūnas Banys and the vice dean Algimanta Dargienė.

history

In 1931, Feliksas Milevičius , the mayor of Telšiai, founded the wood processing school . From 1939 there was also vocational training in metalworking . In 1945 the school became the Telšiai Secondary School of Applied Arts and in 1959 the Telšiai Applied Arts Technical Center. In 1989 it became a high school for applied arts. In 1991 the art department was formed. By order of the Minister of Education Kornelijus Platelis , the Art Department of the Telšiai Higher School of Applied Arts was reorganized on August 1, 1998 into the Applied Arts Department of the Vilniaus dailės akademija University .
