Hörden is a district of Gaggenau in the Baden-Württemberg district of Rastatt .

Location and transport links

Hörden is located south-east of the core city of Gaggenau on federal highway 462 . The Murg flows on the western outskirts, the Haselbach to the north, the Laufbach to the south and west. To the west, north-east and south-east of Hörden are the three sub-areas of the 42.7  hectare nature reserve Galgenberg, Favoritenfelsen, Scheibenberg .

history

Hörden was once a main town of the timber trading and rafting cooperative Murgschifferschaft . The formerly independent town, mentioned for the first time in 1408 and traditionally closely linked to the southern neighboring town of Gernsbach , was incorporated into Gaggenau on January 1, 1975. The former municipality had an area of ​​4.01 km². The building of the former synagogue has been preserved.
